The “Responsible AI for Society” project is dedicated to the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in business and government. Against the backdrop of the European AI Act, which aims to establish binding guidelines for the use of AI systems for the first time, the project focuses on analyzing current challenges and developing concrete recommendations for action. The goal is to strengthen Hamburg’s position as a pioneer in responsible AI while simultaneously bringing together legal, societal, and economic perspectives.
The project focuses on examining the legal, technical, and societal requirements for the responsible use of AI. Through collaboration among experts from various disciplines, challenges were identified and recommendations for action were developed, intended to provide guidance particularly to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the public administration in Hamburg. The goal is to establish a clear and transparent framework for the ethical use of AI and to foster trust in this technology.
The project aims to establish Hamburg as a leading hub for Responsible Artificial Intelligence to establish. This includes supporting businesses and government agencies in complying with the future European regulatory framework, as well as raising awareness of the societal impacts of AI. In the long term, the goal is to create a sustainable and trustworthy AI ecosystem that harnesses economic potential while upholding democratic principles and the rule of law.
