Am 23. März laden wir euch herzlich ein zur nächsten ARIC Movie Night im Alabama Kino auf Kampnagel. Wir schauen Ex Machina.
The movie
We are pleased to present you the movie “Ex Machina”! The movie is about a young programmer who is invited to a remote location to take part in a unique experiment. There he meets Ava, an artificial intelligence that presents itself in human form. As the programmer tries to test and understand Ava, he begins to fall in love with her. But the question soon arises as to whether Ava actually has an independent personality or whether she is just a cleverly programmed tool.
Especially now, when dialog-based language models such as ChatGPT are raising the question: Who or what are we actually communicating with? more and more often than the question: What are we doing with the machines? the question: What are the machines doing with us?
The film encourages reflection on the limits of artificial intelligence and its potential impact on human society.
Responsible AI@ARIC
Since its foundation, the Artificial Intelligence Center (ARIC) has been working on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and data technologies under the heading “responsible AI”. With the film screening, the ARIC aims to stimulate discussion on how dialog with machines is changing the way we see people and society.
Before the movie we will give a short introduction to the topic, after the movie there will be time for discussion and networking, which can be continued later in a nearby restaurant.
