We are not particularly good at imagining the future differently. Our way of thinking is too linear. We imagine the development that lies ahead of us as the one that lies behind us – with a little variation, but the reality is different: It is changing stochastically at an enormous speed in all directions, whether positively or negatively – influenced by technologies and trends that create new solutions to satisfy needs or create new demands. Against all odds, the coronavirus pandemic has become a reality and has at least called into question everything we dared to believe until now.
The resulting effects on technology, society, politics, the economy and the environment mean that trends and innovations are at completely new crossroads. Trends are pulled in one direction or another by various factors, taken completely off the playing field or directed into the rocket hangar. The Crossroads trend analysis was created precisely on this intellectual breeding ground. Themes that are repeatedly encountered in the German media, technology and entertainment market (MTE market for short) really mean.
Trends must be cleverly linked with each other for a qualitative trend analysis. There is no point in looking at them in isolation from each other; they are rarely isolated observations, but rather complex constructs that influence each other and, in combination, lead to multi-layered changes.
Christian von den Brincken, Managing Director at Ströer Core, will be giving an online presentation on November 02 from 14:00 to 15:30 at the results summarized in an atlas.
