“The finance and insurance industry is facing potentially far-reaching changes with regard to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The processing and utilization of large amounts of data opens up a wide range of new business opportunities, especially in terms of a more precise and proactive customer approach, but at the same time calls traditional business models into question,” says Finance Senator Dr. Dressel. Against this backdrop, the Senate sees the founding of the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg e.V. (ARIC) in September 2019 as a great opportunity to jointly advance the topic of AI.
As a central, cross-industry initiative, the ARIC is establishing an interdisciplinary, application-oriented know-how center for AI in the Hamburg metropolitan region. It will act as a link between application-oriented research and practical applications. In this way, the innovative strength and international competitiveness of northern German players from business, science and society in the field of AI are to be sustainably strengthened at the location. The primary goal of the ARIC is the continuous exchange of experience, the application of AI in companies and, ideally, the initiation of pilot projects to research new areas of application for AI.
Finance Senator Dr. Dressel and the ARIC are therefore jointly inviting you to the kick-off event with panel discussion “AI in Hamburg’s finance and insurance industry” on March 24, 2020 at the ARIC premises in Dockland to give you an understanding of the ARIC’s goals and approach, promote mutual exchange and break down silo thinking.
