The world is becoming increasingly complex and the amount of data is growing steadily from year to year. Everyone has somehow seen beautiful, colourful dashboards for visualizing data, but what happens when data becomes tangible and data science meets virtual reality? And how useful is the visualization of data science in virtual reality anyway?
As a provider of automated data analyses from SAP, ARIC founding member zapliance asked itself precisely these questions as part of a project in collaboration with the Nordakademie and gained some astonishing insights.
In this Meetup, you will learn how the idea of visualizing data science came about, how a world engineer created a world of tangible data (and got his master’s degree with it) and the limits of visualization in virtual reality.
After a brief introduction on how the idea came about and what an exemplary world could look like, the Meetup will move on to a panel discussion.
Dr. Edeltraud Leibrock (Connected Innovations GmbH and ARIC advisory board), Prof. Dr. Nick Gehrke (Nordakademie and ARIC board member), Alexander Rühle (CEO zapliance) and Sascha Theede (Nordakademie and world engineer) will discuss not only the opportunities and possibilities, but also the current limitations of virtual reality in the visualization of data science.
Participation in the Meetup is free of charge and will take place on 24.06.2020 in the virtual world via AltspaceVR from 19:00 to 21:00, or can be followed live via a stream on Facebook. Registration and further information can be found here.
Duration: 120 minutes
Moderation: Susanne Ahmadseresht and Simon Graff (nextReality)
Panelists: Dr. Edeltraud Leibrock (Connected Innovations GmbH and Advisory Board ARIC), Prof. Dr. Nick Gehrke (Nordakademie and Board ARIC), Alexander Rühle (CEO zapliance), Sascha Theede (HASPA and Nordakademie).
The Meetup is organized in cooperation with nextReality.hamburg, zapliance GmbH, the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg e.V. (ARIC) and the Innovations Kontakt Stelle Hamburg.
(You can take part with or without VR glasses or follow the event in the livestream on facebook).
After the official part of the event, there will be an opportunity for virtual networking at the get-together on AltspaceVR. So get an after-work drink ready.
