ARIC constantly monitors relevant and interesting funding from the European Union, the federal government and the federal states in the field of artificial intelligence. Today we are presenting the KI4KMU funding program. The link below provides a full description and contact details for the funding provider. KI4KMU: “Research, development and use of artificial intelligence methods in SMEs

Individual projects by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and collaborative projects between SMEs and large companies, universities, research institutions, etc. are funded. As a rule, a funding rate of 50% of the eligible costs applies to companies. Adjusted funding rates apply for start-ups and large companies. Projects should be funded for a maximum of 3 years.

The deadline for this BMBF funding is on the following dates: 15.05.20, 15.10.20, 15.04.21, 15.10.21

Research and development projects with the following focal points/topics are of interest (the list of topics only provides a few examples and does not claim to be exhaustive):

  • Automated information processing
  • Digital assistants, e.g. for people in dangerous or stressful environments, for the social sector (e.g. impaired or elderly people, self-determined living, people in stressful situations)
  • Computer vision/image comprehension
  • Language and text comprehension:
    • Domain-specific content
    • Target group-specific content (e.g. age, dialect, non-native speakers)
    • privacy-by-design approaches for such systems
  • Data-driven systems and data engineering
  • Basic questions about intelligent systems
