ARIC Brown Bag Session: AI and energy consumption

Artificial intelligence is enabling ever more powerful applications. But how much energy does it actually consume? From training and inference to the operation of large data centers: the energy requirements of AI are diverse and often invisible. In this brown bag session, we will take a look at the specific energy consumption of language models, examine common forms of energy supply for data centers and discuss what a more sustainable future for AI infrastructure could look like.
