“Reducing energy and resource consumption” ARIC supports the Opti.Prod.NRW consortium

Dortmund’s Technology Park was the venue for the kickoff meeting of the Optiprod.NRW research project coordinated by INOSIM on 24.01.2020.

The process industry (chemical, oil & gas, biotech, pharmaceutical) is an important industrial sector. Their competitiveness depends to a large extent on good production planning. Today, production planning is often done manually, which is tedious, expensive and inefficient.

In the OptiProd.NRW project, ICT experts from the company INOSIM Software GmbH and scientists from the Chair of System Dynamics and Process Control (DYN) at the Technical University of Dortmund, together with Bayer AG, are developing a new software system which uses state-of-the-art methods of mathematical optimization to automatically calculate optimal production plans.

Optimal production schedules will reduce the environmental impact and energy and resource consumption of the process industry and increase the performance of production plants.

The project partners are supported and advised by Evonik Technology & Infrastructure GmbH, the Innovations Kontakt Stelle (IKS) Hamburg, and the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC).
