August 09, 2021 ARIC Workshop for Students: Learning to understand AI intuitively with KISS*.

Can you actually understand artificial intelligence without studying math and computer science? You can. The Hamburg Open University HOOU/HAW has launched the project KISS* – Artificial Intelligence for Pupils and Students, which aims to explain the most important AI technologies with clear examples and experiments from the everyday life of young people.

For example, questions like: Why does Spotify know what I want to listen to next? How does Alexa actually know that barbecue sauce belongs on my burger? And. Are robots really the best bouncers when the zombie apocalypse looms?

In the workshop “Learning to understand AI intuitively with KISS*”, project developer and ARIC Ambassador Werner Bogula explains how he approached the challenge of explaining extremely complex technology in a very simple way. He gives an insight into the online learning platform KISS*, the didactic concept behind it and shows many examples to try out yourself.

Pupils, students as well as teachers and those interested in AI in general are invited to see for themselves that AI is not difficult and that, with interactive examples, one can intuitively grasp what these technologies are all about.

There will be an opportunity for discussion and a Q&A session afterwards.

The free 90-minute workshop will take place on August 09, 2021 at 16.00 – as far as the current situation allows – at the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) e.V., Van der Smissen Strasse 9, 22767 Hamburg. Otherwise, the workshop will be conducted online.
